Message from the President

Greeting

Thank you for visiting the New Japan Chemical Co., Ltd. website.
My name is Kayoko Morita, and I took office as President & CEO on April 1, 2025.

This year marks our company's 106th year since our founding in 1919 as Osaka Sansuiso K.K. As our founding name suggests, we started out by producing oxygen and hydrogen through the electrolysis of water, supplying oxygen for the shipbuilding and ironworking industries and medical oxygen for sufferers during the Spanish flu pandemic, while putting hydrogen to effective use in hardening fish oils, a raw material for soap and other products. In other words, we've been practicing green chemistry for over a hundred years.

Today, over a century later, our businesses are based on four main product pillars: oleochemicals in the oils and surfactants sector, a core business since our founding; plasticizers that confer flexibility to PVC resins; resin raw materials used to improve the performance of epoxy, polyimide, and other resins; and specialty chemicals such as resin additives that are used in small amounts to enhance the transparency of polypropylene (PP) resins.
Based on our corporate philosophy, “contributing to the development of society through our creations,” we deliver products that add new functions to existing materials. They are vital to everyday life, including automobile parts, electronic materials, semiconductors, residential building materials, cosmetics, cleaning agents, and medicine.

In our second century of operations, we aim to become a value-creating company. We will carefully determine what to change and what not to change, and boldly and proactively challenge ourselves to optimize our business portfolio.

Additionally, we will continue to pursue our Vision 2030: Be the best SPICE! - Spice Up the World with Finest Spices -. Harnessing the power of our diverse human resources, which we refer to as ‘Finest Spices,’ we will develop unique one-of-a-kind materials that, like spices, enliven and inspire the world. We believe New Japan Chemical's raison d'être is to continue along this business path in order to help people lead healthier lives and enrich society.
By cultivating individuality, we aim to create human resources that are not uniform but a diverse mix of personalities. To that end, we must firmly establish the new personnel system, “Change & Challenge!” designed to encourage employees to take on new challenges. We must also bring about rewarding workplaces where employees can pursue challenges, where challenges are celebrated and failures accepted. As a result of these efforts, we will evolve into a company that produces the finest and one-of-a-kind products and technologies that spice up the world.
